New In Games: Dead Island

The day that everyone been waiting for - release of Deep Silver's zombie game masterpiece Dead Island!

"The island of Banoi is a lush, tropical paradise in the South Pacific where its flagship Royal Palms Resort serves as the ultimate getaway for vacationers with money to burn. However, all good things must soon come to an end - and the picturesque resort falls into madness, carnage and chaos after a mysterious and contagious zombie outbreak claims its once peaceful atmosphere. Cut off from the rest of the world, only four individuals who strangely find themselves immune to zombification have the power to protect the remaining survivors from the horrors of the island, to discover what's really going on and find a way to escape before their own fatal ends."

Dead Island is available now for Xbox 360, Playstation 360 and PC.

Zombies On The Moon

Zombies on the moon. Never thought I would write those words but thanks to the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection, the zombie apocalypse has gone lunar.

COD continues to up the stakes, taking the fight against the undead to new heights - literally.

Developer Treyarch says "This all-Zombies content pack hurls players into orbit with "Moon," the climax to the Zombies saga, as well as the most challenging and thrilling adventure yet. The undead shift in and out of sight, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Undead astronauts easily shamble toward their next meal, unaffected by the base's fluctuating gravity

Arm yourself with a space-age arsenal of epic proportions, including the Wave Gun, capable of cooking zombies from the inside out, as well as the Quantum Entanglement Device, which taps into the theories of quantum mechanics to bless (or curse!) your battle against the undead. Along with new equipment and an all-new Perk for thrice the zombie-slaying fun, you'll have the tools you need to turn back the undead tide once and for all."

The Rezurrection pack will also include:

* Four re-mastered levels from Call of Duty: World at War: "Nacht der Untöten," "Verrückt," "Shi No Numa," and "Der Riese," where it all began.
* An enhanced Zombies soundtrack INCLUDING, three tracks never before available for purchase.
* A new Zombies "Moon" theme.

The Rezurrection content pack will be available on Xbox Live on August 23rd.

Pocket God Adds Zombies

For its latest update, Bolt Creative has added zombies to Pocket God: Journey To Uranus...

Episode 5: Planet of the Dead

"The Graveyard Island has been added to the planet Earth! Drag the pygmy across the ocean to the right to find the new location. There lies a mysterious grave with strange markings on the tombstone. Tap the dirt to dig up the grave, drop a pygmy in, and tap the dirt again to bury the pygmy alive. The special power of the grave turns the Pygmy into a brain-eating Zombie! This sandbox function is based on the classic zombie function on Pocket God, but new and improved. Like Pocket God, the Zombies spread their infection, but now you can give uninfected pygmies an axe to defend themselves! The axe does a great job of dismembering Zombies, but doesn't slow them down much! Drag zombies to different locations and experiment to see what you can do to them!"

Pocket God: Journey To Uranus is available for iPad and iPhone for $0.99

Call of Duty: Black Ops Sets Another Record

Call of Duty: Black Ops now reigns as the best-selling U.S. game of all-time.

The PlayStation blog reports:

"Last night the NPD group reported that Call of Duty: Black Ops has sold 13.7 million units. This makes it the all time best-selling game in US history, which is very impressive since it has only be on the market since early November. Black Ops toppled the former king Wii Play, and you have to admit, even if you’re not a fan of the Call of Duty series, it is nice to see an actual game in the top spot."

Just like the undead that you face in zombie mode, Black Ops just may be unstoppable on the sales chart.
